**October Wahoo Fishing in Key West: From the *WildBill* to Dante’s**

On a recent trip, we hooked into a fantastic Wahoo, and the day didn’t end there—we took our catch straight to Dante’s to have them cook it up fresh!
The day started with the *WildBill* cruising out at dawn, the sky glowing orange as Captain Art Duplessis guided us into prime fishing waters. October is peak season for Wahoo, and sure enough, it wasn’t long before we had a strike. The reel screamed, and with Jerry coaching me through the fight, we pulled in a stunning Wahoo—a real beauty with sleek, silver sides and fierce teeth.
After a quick round of photos, Jerry expertly filleted our catch right on the dock. Wahoo has delicate, white meat perfect for grilling, so we decided to bring it to Dante’s, a laid-back spot in Key West that offers a “cook your catch” service. Nothing beats the freshness of enjoying fish you reeled in just hours earlier.
At Dante’s, the chef worked magic on our Wahoo, grilling it to perfection with some local spices and sides. Sitting outside by the pool, with the sun setting and our fresh catch on the plate, it was the perfect way to cap off an unforgettable day on the water.
